  • Dr. Stacey Mulligan

    My name is Dr. Stacey Mulligan and I am the principal of CityLab Innovation High School. This is my 6th year as a principal in Revere and I have been in education for 25 years. I went to University of Hartford and majored in Communications. Then, I received my Masters and Ed.D. from UMass Boston. My most interesting job was at DUNKIN DONUTS! I was on the overnight shift in college. We literally were the people that squirted jelly and other fillings into the donuts. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing tennis, and taking hikes. I am looking forward to working with you all this year. Go CityLab!

  • Evalynn Bulger

    My name is Evalynn (Evvy) Bulger, and I’m excited to begin my first year as Assistant Principal at CityLab High School. Before this role, I served as the Literacy Coach for four years and taught English Language Arts for ten years at Revere High School, primarily working with seniors. I’m a proud three-time graduate of Salem State University, where I earned my B.A., M.Ed., and CAGS. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. Together, we love watching anime; our favorites include Solo Leveling, Naruto, Demon Slayer, and JJK. Fun fact: my very first job was as a Certified Nurse’s Aide (C.N.A.) at a nursing home during my senior year at Lynn Tech. I’m looking forward to an amazing school year with all of you!

  • Beatriz Lanzo

    ¡Hola! I am Beatriz Lanzo, Operations Assistant at CityLab High School. A little bit about me. I have been part of the Revere Public Schools system since 2011.  I am proud graduate of Suffolk University with a BS degree in Paralegal Studies and a minor in Psychology. I am also a licensed Real Estate Agent and a notary public. A grand part of my professional life was spent working in the corporate/patent legal world as a Senior Paralegal. I am proud to say that our firm patented the Segway, a Human Transporter invention.  My passions include writing poetry, and listening and dancing to music. My first fun job was a at gift shop at Logan Airport where I had the opportunity to meet few celebrities like singer Donna Summer, boxer Mike Tyson, and many Celtics players.  Outside of work, my life is dedicated to my twin son/daughter. I am a sports mom to my children and love it. Our family pet is Maya, a beautiful Pom Shih-Tzu.

  • Ouafa Kinaoui

    My name is Ouafa Kinaoui (she/her) and I am the parent liaison at City Lab High School. I have been a long time Revere Resident. I am fluent in multiple languages. I speak Arabic, French, and English fluently and I’m learning Spanish. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, a Business Administration Certificate and Google IT Support Professional Certificate. I am so excited to be a family liaison because I enjoy giving back to my community and support them with all the resources they may need. My goal is to work closely with our families to become active participants in their child’s education.

  • Michael Thompson

    Hi I am Mike Thompson and I am security at CityLab. I graduated from Lynn Vocational High School in 1981. I have worked in private security as a Lynn constable serving court orders out of Salem courts. I am from Winthrop and I enjoy walking my dogs, the beach, and bike riding. I enjoy working at CityLab as security!

  • Melissa Alvarez

    Hi! My name Is Melissa Alvarez, this is my fourth year as a school adjustment counselor here at CityLab and I’m proud to bring over a decade of experience as an educator. I hold a B.S. from Boston University’s Metropolitan College/School of Medicine, along with an M.Ed. and CAGS from Cambridge College. Outside of school, you’ll likely find me traveling, soaking up the sun and exploring new cuisines.  My first job was at Flippers Cinema & Arcade in Hollywood, FL. Oh, how I miss those days! Privileged to be educated, fortunate to shift mindsets and energized to tackle another meaningful school year!

  • Nicolas Blaisdell

    Hello everyone! My name is Nicolas Blaisdell (he/him) and I am a humanities teacher here at CityLab High School. In 2024 I earned my doctorate degree in education at Northeastern University and added that to my master's and bachelor's degrees from UMass Amherst. Aside from teaching at CityLab, I also work as a part-time instructor for UMass Amherst's College of Education and North Shore Community Colleges' Upward Bound program. My passions include playing the tenor saxophone, gardening, politics, and skateboarding. I'm looking forward to seeing what this school year brings!

  • Chelsea Brandwein-Fryar

    ​Hi everyone! My name is Chelsea Brandwein-Fryar (she/her), or Mrs. B-F if you're one of my students. Here at CityLab I teach English Language Arts, and this is my 10th year teaching. I am a proud graduate of UMass Amherst, B.A., Lesley University, M.ED, and Salem State University, CAGS. Outside of school you can find me spending time with friends and family, performing music, and traveling. My first job was working on the line at Bruegger's Bagels burning my hands on the toaster and getting cream cheese everywhere. Let’s go CityLab YEAR 4!

  • Katie Cerasale-Messina

    Hello, my name is Katie Cerasale-Messina (she/her) but most families and students know me as Mrs. C. I am a Technology teacher for CityLab. This will be my 22nd year of teaching and my 18th year in Revere. I am a proud Suffolk Ram (BA) and have additional degrees from Simmons University (MLIS) and Salem State University (CAGS). You will soon find out that I am obsessed with my pug, Neville, Starbucks and all things Disney. Prior to teaching, I worked in the Educator Resource Center and Library at the Museum of Science where once in a while I helped the museum's bee keeper tend to the museum's hive. Cannot wait to see you all in Lab 225!

  • Adam Donaruma

    Hello to all! I am Adam Donaruma, or Mr. Donaruma to my students. I am one of the Math and Coding teachers at CityLab, going into my 6th year of teaching. I graduated with a bachelors degree from UMass Amherst, and am currently completing my masters degree at Merrimack College. When I’m not in school I spend most of my time playing tennis with my friends, building Legos, or gaming on my PC. Before teaching I worked for multiple different summer camps, as well as being a member and leader of the community engagement program Team Positive Presence/Walk This Way at UMass during my undergrad. I am so excited to continue helping CityLab grow as a school, and help our students reach their potential.

  • Nate Dore

    Hi! My name is Nate Dore (he/him) and I am the P.E. teacher at both City Lab and Beachmont Elementary school, a position I have held for the last 16 years. I also work as an Athletic Trainer for Revere’s sports teams, along with the soccer and basketball teams at Bunker Hill community college. I attended Westfield State College for my undergraduate degree, and Endicott for my masters degree. After living in Saugus for 10 years, I recently moved to Peabody with my wife and our 2 dogs. I am a huge Boston sports fan, and in my free time, I enjoy the beach, golfing, running, and snowboarding in the winter.

  • JC Eurbin

    Hi! My name is JC Eurbin (she/her) and I am the ELA9 teacher at CityLab. This is my 7th year teaching in Revere Public Schools, my 2nd year as a full time ELA teacher, and I'm looking forward to seeing how CityLab grows. I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Curry College and I recently graduated from Salem State’s CAGS program. In my free time I love getting sucked into a good book, hiking the New England 4000s, and finding new recipes to make. I can't wait for another exciting year at CityLab!

  • Erik Fearing

    I’m Erik Fearing (he/him), CityLab’s special education math teacher and partnership coordinator. This is my 22nd year teaching – all at Revere’s alternative school. I studied Chemical Engineering at Tufts University, Mathematics Education at Gordon College, Special Education at Salem State University, and Educational Leadership at American International College. I really enjoy immersive theatre and live action roleplaying, and I have performed in several shows around Boston as a character actor and game facilitator. My first job was at Yawgoog Scout Reservation, where I taught Nature merit badge classes when I was 18. I worked at that camp for seven years including time running a camp kitchen and a high ropes course. I’m excited to build CityLab with you!

  • Karleny Galan

    Hi, My name is Karleny Galan prior to being a school social worker a CityLab High School I was working as an inpatient clinician for an adult dual diagnosis unit. I consider myself a dedicated, hardworking person and I am passionate about teaching my clients the skills to become self-sufficient and to promote self-advocacy to reach their personal goals. I graduated from Simmons University in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Social work and since then I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clients in a variety of settings. I look forward to working with youth to help them develop a supportive relationships to assist them in building a resilient foundation for adulthood. Outside of work, I enjoy walking on trails, watching crime shows, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to working with our students and helping them reach their goals.

  • May Hunter-Smith

    My name is May Hunter-Smith (she/her). This is my 13th year of teaching mathematics of all flavors. I finished my undergraduate degree at Williams College, then completed my MAT in Mathematics at the University of Chicago. I love thinking about how things are put together. This has led to a number of things, such as my current unsustainable crafting habit, a cabin built from scratch (tree to building!), and as well as my love of math. I have been described as a nerd, a lumberjack, and "if Jess Day was a math teacher." I hope to spend a lot of time in the classroom finding out who you are!

  • Reiko Marcos

    Konnichiwa, CityLab! My name is Reiko Asahina Marcos and I am the Japanese teacher at CityLab. I graduated from universities in Kobe and Osaka, Japan, where I earned both an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree. I began my career as a Kobe city employee, working as an editor at a Kobe City newspaper for non-Japanese residents. Later was a editor/writer for the free paper for the service members and families on the US military base in Okinawa, Japan. I also worked as an editor for textbooks designed for Japanese learners at Japan Times in Tokyo. Japan. I have taught Japanese in the USA for more than a decade, including teaching Japanese to the well-known device “Alexa” at Amazon USA in Cambridge as a data linguist. It was a fun job for me. I also teach Japanese at universities in Boston. Outside of teaching, I enjoy swimming, going to the beach, and traveling the world. Most importantly, I love watching Japanese anime. My favorite anime series are “Paprika” and “Attack on Titan”. I am looking forward to learning Japanese together with you!

    Hi! My name is Megan McBride and I am the Guidance Counselor here at CityLab. I am a proud graduate of Endicott College, B.S., where I was a member of the field hockey team, and Salem State University, M.ED in School Counseling. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, exercising and streaming a good series. My first job was working as an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard in York Beach, ME. I looking forward to supporting all of our students as they create a pathway towards their future!

  • Edmund Obuobi-Budu

    Hi Hello, Hello Hi. The name is Edmund Obuobi-Budu (He/him) and I am okay with you calling me by my first name :-). I am the Technology support staff here at CityLab. I am the face you will see  and the voice you will hear anytime you contact CityLab Technology helpline. Before joining the school district, I worked as a technology staff member in an underground mine. This is my first experience in an educational setting, and I’m truly enjoying it. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana. Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, Engaging in Church activities, exploring history content through videos and podcasts, and keeping up with the latest developments in technology. I look forward to serving the student and staff of this district.

  • Evelyn Oiye

    Hi everyone, my name is Evelyn Adhiambo Oiye (she/her). My students can simply refer to me as Tr. Evelyn or Miss Eve. I have been a teacher for the past sixteen years back in my home country, Kenya. Here at CityLab, I teach English Language Arts and I am also a Special Education teacher. I am a graduate of Mt. Kenya University and am also currently taking a Masters Degree course in Curriculum Development at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Outside school, I love reading and watching movies and documentaries. It’s my first time participating in the Cultural Exchange Program outside my country and I am extremely excited to participate in it’s activities and serve the childen.

  • Mario Perella

    Hi Everyone! My name is Mario Perella (he/him). Here at CityLab I teach Biology and a class called Urban Growers in which we mostly maintain the indoor and outdoor gardens. This is my 28th year of teaching science, mostly in Revere. I am a proud graduate of Boston University, dual major, B.A. Biology, and Secondary Science Education, Northeastern University, M.Ed. While at Boston University I worked as a Peer Counselor for the Financial Aid Office. I also organized and played on an intramural hockey team for 2 years in which we made it to the championship finals both years and won one of two. Outside of school I enjoy traveling, cooking, attending sporting events, and growing live coral in my saltwater aquariums. My first job was at a local restaurant at the age of 15. As the son of Italian immigrants, my first language was Italian. I am looking forward to an exciting first year of many to come here at CityLab!

  • Tina Petty

    Hi! I’m Ms. Petty and I’m the History Instructional Coach for grades 6-12 in Revere. I work with teachers at CityLab to figure out how to teach history and civics in a way that matters today! This is my 21st year as a teacher. Before I was a teacher coach I taught grade 6th, 7th, and 8th grade history at SBA. I also co-ran the drama program at SBA and am working to bring theater opportunities to Revere High and CityLab students this year. I am a graduate of Stonehill College, B.A., Salem State University, M., and University of Massachusetts Boston, CAGS. Outside of school you can find me spending time with friends and family, playing at the park with my two daughters, or traveling to the beaches of Maine – even in the winter. Have a great year!

  • Kali Sawyer

    Hello! My name is Kali Sawyer (she/her), and this is my 5th year teaching history in Revere. Before Revere, I taught 5th grade history in Chelsea for six years. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire (B.A. and M.ED​), and since I love school so much, I earned my second degree from American International College (CAGS). Since moving to Massachusetts, Dunkin has become a big part of my life, and I love living so close to my friends and family. Traveling is my favorite part of being an adult, and I hope to show you some of my favorite parts of Boston and the North Shore. My first job was changing diapers in the infant / toddler room at a YMCA daycare.
